Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to seal straight passage to the last 16, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Moment

This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in succession.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
