Renowned Star Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.

"He never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
