The Red Bull team has announced a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its senior team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive. Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. These changes sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat post a half-decade in F1. A Star in the Making The British teen took part in FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix in the current season. Lindblad has been tagged as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Talking about the team's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "natural quickness". Red Bull prepared a programme since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, including appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and step up. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver celebrates his first podium in F1, secured at the Dutch Grand Prix this season. The Frenchman's debut season began in difficult fashion when he spun out on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the most impressive rookies of the year. His performances featured an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings. The team principal said: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max." Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared". Tsunoda's Exit For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back after just two races. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
