🔗 Share this article Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients. The Serious Charges Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021. One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Investigation The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January. List of Offences The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include: Fifteen counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration. Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
