🔗 Share this article Emma Raducanu concludes her season and will keep coach through next year. Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments in the current campaign. Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half. At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health before starting her preparations for 2026. Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season. Raducanu had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion. She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one. Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has affected her on several occasions in 2025. Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally for the first time since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses. She held three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month. The player achieved 28 victories this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March. Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth. She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open. The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year. Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy. She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August. Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
